Mythologies For A New Era:
Introducing "Aeyde Anemoia"

Words: Costanza Acernese
Date: 21.01.2025
Introducing “Aeyde Anemoia,” our seasonal concept for Spring/Summer ‘25 defined by nostalgia for a time or place one has never known. Through thoughtful design cues and storytelling, we channel this sensibility into a collection that nods to the past, and editorial narratives that reimagine it for the present.

Taking inspiration from 19th-century fashion, literature, and architecture, “Aeyde Anemoia” blends dark Romanticism with Victorian aesthetics, evoking a sense of mystery and opulence, and fusing reality with fantasy. This translates to a design language that finds form in contrast: leather meets lace and metal meets mesh—melding historical reference with future intent.

Rooted in German folklore, “Aeyde Anemoia” draws from generational stories—like those of the Grimm Brothers—that explore universal themes of morality, gendered expectations, and the human condition. And while these stories may hold their shape, their lessons change with each generation, making them fertile ground for reinterpretation.

In this spirit, Aeyde invites writer and guest editor Durga Chew-Bose to breathe new life into six tales from the Grimm Brothers’ anthology, which will be released with each collection. Alongside Chew-Bose, contributors from Aeyde’s vast creative community join our journey through time and fictional worlds, resulting in a seamless interplay of words and visuals.

Building on its themes of nostalgia and transformation, “Aeyde Anemoia” sets the tone for a season steeped in reinvention—mythologies retold for a new era.
